The Microsoft Office Business Intelligence (BI) team in Boise is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II) to work on next generation business intelligence (BI) solutions. The ideal candidate will have excellent programming skills and a solid understanding of test automation, software testing processes, and collaboration skills to ensure that high quality processes and products are created. We are looking for a motivated, customer focused, highly technical and accountable individual that will drive feature set testing, participate in test automation, and engage with customer and partners to ship a great product. Core job Responsibilities include:
Develop test design specs for product features
Create and execute test cases
Participate in design reviews
Write defect reports and verify fixed defects
Root cause defects
Modify and extend the test automation framework
Run automated tests and analyze test results
Work closely with developers and program managers to prioritize test automation creation
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in testing enterprise-scale applications
Minimum of 3 years of experience writing test automation
Minimum of 6 years programming experience, which includes at least 3 year developing with C++ or C#
Demonstrated technical leadership experience on at least one past project
Demonstrated understanding of quality assurance processes and software development lifecycles
Ability to work within the project teams and across the product groups
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Has completed at least one full software development cycle from concept through delivery
Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent work experience
Desired Knowledge/Skills:
Experience creating test automation for web technologies
Demonstrated working knowledge of Analysis Services and SharePoint
